Coach Excursion to
The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway
Sunday 18th April 2010
The Society is organising an excursion to the steam operated Keighley and Worth Valley Railway on Sunday 18th April 2010. The price includes a full length return journey on the railway plus the option to travel on the railway for the rest of the day. The line was immortalised in the 1970 film of The Railway Children based on the book by E Nesbit.
Haworth is, of course, famous for its association with the formative years of the Brontė sisters. The regular coach shuttle enables afternoon visitors to Haworth Parsonage to avoid the long steep climb through the village.
Frank Needham, a member who has been closely involved with the K&WVR for many years, will lead a full day tour of the line and museums at Ingrow. The day rover supplement is essential for this as it includes the Ingrow museum entries (the Oxenhope Museum is free).
